Mammoth Mountain is a stunning mountain town in the Northern California area known for its incredible skiing and snowboarding. Most people don’t realize that summer in Mammoth can be the most beautiful time to visit. I’ve been traveling to Mammoth my whole life and have learned a thing or two about how to make the most of your trip!

Here are just a few my favorite things to do in Mammoth!
Go hiking! Rainbow Falls is one of my favorite hikes, especially on a hot day. This is a five mile round trip hike leading to a stunning waterfall where you can relax by taking a dip in the refreshing water. There’s also a super easy and fun hiking trail behind Mammoth Mountain Inn providing a stunning view of the Minarets.

Cliff Jumping at Crowley Lake - 20 minutes south of Mammoth, Crowley Lake offers plenty of coves and spots for cliff jumping. We usually arrive last minute to get a discount on the boat rental, though this doesn’t always work. When you head out of the marina, you enter a series of coves on your right surrounded by perfect cliff jumping spots. Make sure to check the depth of the water first!

Mountain Biking - Another big to do in Mammoth is to experience their endless array of mountain biking paths. Personally I’ve only experienced this a couple times myself, but my brothers and their friends love the trails Mammoth Mountain Biking offers. Since it’s mostly downhill mountain biking, the process is far less strenuous.

Look at the stars! - I know this may sound dumb, but you can see SO many stars when you’re in Mammoth and far away from the city lights. If you drive out onto Sierra Meadows Ranch you’ll find plenty of open space surrounded by nature and absolute silence. This is the perfect spot to lay on the ground and gaze at the sky and stars above. There is truly nothing like it.

Book your next trip with me! I would love to help you on your Mammoth adventures!
